job_title: DSP hardware design engineer sussex to £32K

description: Applicants will possess a Degree or HND in Electronic Engineering, Computer Sciences or other appropriate subject with a minimum of three years experience of DSP design and be fully conversant with high speed EPLD design for Altera using Quartus and VHDL.
Previous responsibilities will have included circuit component assembly from initial requirement through to the design proving of production units. Knowledge of digital FM demodulation and communications theory, coupled with a familiarity of Analog Devices, 21xxx DSP processors and high speed A/D D/A applications would be advantageous. Further desirable attributes include experience of mathematical modelling using MATLAB and algorithm development. Additionally experience of the integration of hardware and software and it's impact on PCB layout combined with software design capability in assembler, C and C++ would be required in the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities:
The key task of the successful candidates will be to provide cost effective solutions that satisfy technical requirements within agreed schedule targets. This will be combined with the operation and maintenance of a design process in compliance with the company's ISO9001 and TickIT approved quality system. Additional tasks will include assisting in the selection of design tools and lab equipment and providing expert input to bids and proposals. Communication skills, self motivation and team spirit will be used to the full in this challenging and dynamic development environment.
