Job Title: Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

Description: The client is taking their time to fill this requirement, as they need the right person with the potential to takeover from the Manager in 3 years time. From the outset they will be required to manage and develop a team of EI Supervisors and multi-skilled technicians to maximise equipment uptime availability within prescribed financial performance parameters. A degree or equivalent in engineering, providing a high level of technical know-how and credibility within the Electrical and Instrumentation specialist areas. This will be supported by a track record of management and development within the engineering department of a continuous process environment. Demonstrable multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge will be advantageous, as the postholder will be developing a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrable evidence of effective project management will be valuable. Concern for the effectiveness of engineering maintenance activity must be high, as must the postholder's ability to analyse complex engineering problems and identify workable, cost effective solutions. As the leader of a team of 12, he/she must display leadership qualities and awareness of the impact of his/her actions on the motivation and morale of the team. The postholder must be proactive in identifying and implementing the next actions for the team. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to build relationships within the team and within the management team as a whole. The postholder should have a desire to develop his-/herself and others to ensure that knowledge is shared and imparted. The postholder should have the potential to develop further and the achievement drive which will make this possible.
