To continue this development we are seeking an experienced, high-calibre user interface developer to join one of our small teams of highly dedicated engineers working on innovative products for voice and video.
Brief Description of Role
The Senior User Interface Developer will work alongside the team of developers working on new products and technology. Responsibilities will include:
full life-cycle graphical user interface (GUI) design and development, including informal mock-ups using paper sketches and/or prototyping tools
implementation of GUIs to a production-grade standard
liaison with external providers of graphical imagery
liaison with our test team in Sophia Antipolis, France
customer-facing and internal documentation
work on customer accounts
Technical Knowledge
Graduate with 3+ years of GUI design/development experience. You will enter the role at an exciting time, when implementation decisions are being made on a significant green field project, for which ease-of-use will be a key differentiator. You will be expected to be able to contribute to this discussion from Day One.
For our current development plans, there will be a need to fulfil several critical requirements, including:
GUI deployment across full range of web browsers, across multiple platforms, including legacy home user systems
delivery of impressive user experience to maximum proportion of end users, with graceful degradation for all others
Typical skills that we believe would best suit this role are:
extensive development for web using HTML, XHTML and related technologies, across multiple platforms/browsers
development using Adobe Flash, preferably with Flex and Flex Charting, or an equivalent RIA technology. Solid experience in Java Swing or similar with proven ability to acquire new skill sets may be acceptable.
Applicants invited for interview will need to provide a portfolio of previous work, displaying both moderate implementation complexity and design flair.
Also desirable is some knowledge of accessibility issues, internationalisation and IP networking.

Location
Based in Bristol with Possibility of occasional travel, mainly to US and the south of France.
Remuneration
Up to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Benefits include pension scheme, private medical insurance, life assurance, permanent health insurance and corporate health club membership.
