This Company, based in Berkshire is the leading developer of COLD/ERM (Computer Output to Laser Disc/Enterprise Report Management) and Integrated Electronic Document Imaging technologies.

They seek a Senior Software Developer to join their Systems Development Team. The job holder will be required to work closely with the Team Leader and Development Manager in the analysis and prioritising of system level requirements.

Whilst the Senior Developer’s core skill will be writing software code, he/she will be required to contribute in other areas of the product lifecycle, particularly researching and defining requirements, design, coding, systems build and hand-over.

RESPONSIBILITIES -

Contribute to the analysis and prioritising of system level requirements with the Systems Team Leader and the Development Manager, defining how these can be best supported by existing architecture and design.

Take high level requirements and translate these to a software design, using own skills and, where appropriate, the skills and experience of other team members.

Agree design with Systems Team Leader, ensuring good fit with the work of other team members.

Implement design to timescales agreed with Team Leader.

Provide support to the Systems Test team when code moves through to testing phase.

Provide support and technical guidance to other team members.

Any other duties as required from time to time.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS –
VC++ (v5 or 6), COM development using ATL, Win32 Systems Programming, MFC experience, 2-3 years experience in a systems development environment, track record of putting together solutions that work successfully to customer requirements.


DESIRABLE SKILLS -
Experience of Client Server development (n-tier), Web related experience – IIS (Internet Information Server), ASPs (Active Server Pages) and XML, Network programming, Database systems programming (SQL, Server/Oracle)
